Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy today announced the appointment of Dario Borghesan to the Alaska Supreme Court and Thomas Jamgochian to the Palmer District Court.
Dario Borghesan moved to Fairbanks to clerk for Justice Daniel E. Winfree of the Alaska Supreme Court after graduating from Michigan Law School in 2008. Mr. Borghesan has since worked for the Alaska Department of Law in the roles of special assistant to the Attorney General, assistant attorney general handling civil appeals, and most recently the supervising attorney of the department’s civil appeals section. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, fishing, and hiking with his wife, two sons, and loyal dog.
Tom Jamgochian graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2004, and came to Alaska to clerk for Superior Court Judge Gleason. For the past 14 years, Mr. Jamgochian has served as an Assistant District Attorney in Bethel, Fairbanks, and Nome. In his free time, he takes pride in training his 18 sled dogs.
Mr. Borghesan fills the vacancy created by Justice Craig Stowers’ retirement. Mr. Jamgochian fills the vacancy created by Judge David Zwink’s retirement.
